WHAT IS NABULIZER

 Nebulizer:

  •   Nebulizer is used when water or some type of medication suspended in the inspired air as an aerosol is to be given to the patient.
  •  A nebulizer is a breathing machine used to treat respiratory illnesses, such as asthma.
  • In this device, the water or medication is picked up by a high velocity jet of air/oxygen and is inhaled by the patient through nose or mouth.
  • The nebulizer turns the air and oxygen into aerosol with medicine, and this is what patients will inhale to make them breathe easier, curing their asthma or respiratory problem.
 
 

       Procedure/Operation:

  • Open the nebulizer cup by turning the upper part counter-clockwise.
  • Pour the quantity of drug as prescribed by the physician into the cup.
  • Close the nebulizer by turning the upper part clockwise
  • Connect the cup to the unit’s air outlet by means of the tube.
  • Apply one of the required accessories: mouth-piece or mask, to the cup.
  • Start the unit by turning the switch on.
  • See that the medication in the nebulizer cup is forming the mist.
  •  Put your lips securely around the mouth-piece, or mask around your face and inhale as slowly and deeply as possible.
